All Aboard The Christmas Ferry Express!

04Dec 2014

Broughty Ferry Traders Association is spreading the Christmas cheer on Sunday 14 December 12 - 4pm with a special outing for the popular Land Train which will be picking up Festive families from the Gray Street Grotto, next door to Visocchi's. Many Broughty Ferry retailers, cafes and bars will be open for business on the Sunday afternoons in December, giving locals and visitors even more opportunity to make a day of it and buy their Christmas gifts and treats locally.

The Land Train will take its passengers on a jolly journey through the streets of central Broughty Ferry for just ВЈ1, with proceeds being distributed to local charities.

BFTA Chair, Steve James said:
'By mid-December lots of people are already fed up with their Christmas shopping and we know that there are more folk than ever who want to buy their gifts from local, independent retailers. Most of the shops will be open especially for the afternoon and we were delighted when the Land Train people offered to help us turn Sunday the 14th into a family friendly day in the Ferry. Also great that Santa found the time to spend the afternoon with us at his busiest time of year. We reckon he just wants a shot on the train!'

This is a new initiative for The Traders Association which is responsible for major community events including Gala Week, Christmas Decorations and Street Concert, promotes Broughty Ferry in partnership with other local agencies, acts as an advocate in the best interests of the town where appropriate and makes significant donations to local charities.
